In an air-cooled unit it has condensers that are cooled by the outside air. The preference for air-cooled chillers is especially in cases where there is scarcity of water.
In the water-cooled chillers the condensers are connected with the cooling tower and are advisable for large installations and where there is the constant need for the system to operate independently of the ambient temperature.
Chillers are mainly used for big malls, Theatres, large multi commercial buildings.
